Privacy Policy

LATUS Pixel is a taste companion made by Kaptagon Corporation. It reads restaurant menus and scores dishes against your personal taste profile. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. It covers the LATUS Pixel iOS app and latuspixel.com.

What we collect

• Account information. An account identifier, and your email address if you sign in with one.
• Your taste profile. The taste dials you set, foods you want more or less of, and any hard limits you add, such as allergies or dietary and religious restrictions. You provide these so the app can filter and score dishes for you, and they are used for nothing else.
• Menus, receipts, and photos. Menu photos, PDFs, or text you capture, and receipt photos you scan.
• Ratings and activity. The dishes you mark as ordered, your ratings, and the restaurants you save.
• Location. Approximate location while you use the app, only to match a menu to the restaurant you are at. iOS asks for your permission first.
• Usage and diagnostics. Standard analytics events and crash reports so we can see what is working and fix what is not.
• Contact form. If you write to us through the site, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit.

How we use it

• To read menus and receipts, score dishes against your profile, check receipt charges against menu prices, and improve your recommendations as you rate dishes.
• To operate, troubleshoot, and improve the app.
• To respond when you contact us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not show ads.

AI processing

Menus and receipts are processed by AI services to extract dishes, prices, and descriptions and to score dishes for you. This processing runs on our servers through contracted providers acting on our behalf, and the content is used only to return results to you.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored with Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore and Cloud Storage) on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States, encrypted in transit and at rest.

What we share

We share data only with the service providers that run the product: Google Firebase for storage, sign in, analytics, and crash reporting; AI providers for menu and receipt processing; and an email delivery service for the site contact form. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. That is the whole list.

Your choices

• Camera, photo library, location, and notification access are each optional and controlled in iOS Settings.
• You can view and share your taste profile from the app at any time.
• You can delete your account and its data from the app under Account, or email us and we will do it for you.

Retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, your profile, menus, receipts, and ratings are deleted from our systems.

Children

LATUS Pixel is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Meaningful changes will be called out in the app.
